10 Years of Entrepreneurs, and What I’ve Learnt

I started my entrepreneurial journey when I was 26 years old.

I didn’t really know what I wanted to or how I would do it, but I knew what type of woman I wanted to become: successful.  My definition of success was a woman who was smart, confident, hard working, positive, accomplished, contributed and most importantly, happy.  And with a strong passion and vision, I started on this journey to discover how to become this person– and I never turned back.

After 10 years, I have only just begun.  I have been a part of many ventures, two of which I have grew to become successful women communities: DivaGirl and Sexy & Wealthy in Heels.  I have learnt how to build community, be financially free, create systems and most importantly, give back to other women.  I have met and collaborated with amazing people and had the opportunity to fully engage my creative energy. I have attracted many amazing people to my life, including my current business partners, stellar best friends (Miami crew) and most importantly, my partner in life/future husband, Travis JohnsonIn my personal life, I am fortunate to have traveled to over 35 countries, build extensive life experiences and create my desired bi-coastal lifestyle. But the amazing part is… I have so much more to learn.

There were many wins and loses, smiles and tears, people who have come and gone, but the one thing that remained was my strong vision, intense work ethic and commitment to be fair and honest.  The past decade was quite a process- anyone who says being an entrepreneur is easy, is lying.  Yet looking back, I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

In my stage of my career, I just want to share… and give back.  So here I share my top ten things I have learnt being an entrepreneur:

  1. Your idea is good.  But not that good.
Ideas are endless.  And over the past ten years, I have heard many.  But the power is in the execution; and turning your idea into action.  If you can’t plan, execute and maintain momentum, it all fades away.  Consistency is key to make your ideas… great.
  2. YOU are your best investment.
Education is essential.  If you don’t know something, figure it out.  Don’t be naive in your decision making and don’t assume.  Education is power and you will always be the best investment in your business.
  3. Get it in writing.
I have had people take business away, steal money, take advantage and disappear when owing.  And looking back, this could all have been avoided if it was in writing.  No matter what situation, put it in writing, especially when it comes to partnerships- as it also helps in legal situations.
  4. Money management is essential.
Many entrepreneurs focus on “making it big,” 10x your business or earning the 6-figures.  But having lots of money without a strong foundation of money management is pointless.  I do believe that this one subject that everyone should know– but the one that lacks the most.  It’s the small incremental and compounded investments that are most powerful.  Learn your management tools such as being frugal, paying yourself first, investing and the power of trading.
  5. There is no such thing as “luck.
Anyone who is “successful,” deserves that title.  All successful people I know or who researched have gone through their own challenges, hardships, hard work and risks.  Being successful is also a mindset; determining what that means to you and being content when you have reached it.  Luck doesn’t exist in business- it’s a person who makes it happen.
  6. Learn how to leverage and duplicate.  Work smarter.
With most successful people, they have mastered the concepts of leverage and duplication.  Find out what this means and how you can incorporate it within your brand and/or business; as it will help you work smarter.
  7. There will always be haters.
No matter how kind, honest, hard working or consistent you are, there will always be others who see otherwise.  The important thing is to not to get emotionally attached in business, as people have their own battles to face.  Don’t focus on what other say; follow your own path and continue to be the best version of you.
  8. Have a plan B.  Then C.
Just like in finance, don’t put all your eggs in one basket.  Planning is the key to all successful outcomes.  Learn how to effective build a plan, understand the pros and cons along the way and stick to your process.  Consistency and maintenance are two of the hardest things in business- so master the skill or learn from someone who has.
  9. The only constant is change.
If you don’t like change, then don’t be an entrepreneur.  Business is ever changing and evolving; including the people who come in and out of your life.  It’s part of the path, so ensure that you embrace change.  As the only thing that you can control is your reaction to it.
  10. And when all else fails, enjoy the ride.
Entrepreneurship is not a destination– it is a journey.  You need to focus on why you became an entrepreneur in the first place- and hopefully it was to better yourself.  Enjoy the ride because in the end, it’s the only thing that matters.

Laura Furtado Featured in Metro-Living-Zine (August 2015)

Laura Furtado is featured in Metro-Living-Zine on August 20th, 2015.  Article written by Marilyn R. Wilson.

Laura Furtado is a new acquaintance in my circle of amazing women friends. Where did her name cross my path? I think a Facebook friend posted a picture at one of her events. I had never heard of this event, so followed up. Only in her early 30’s,  the business she has built from the ground up is truly impressive and I love its focus on empowering women. I scheduled a face-to-face coffee. Fortunately she was able to quickly make it happen.

In person she is warm, kind, well-spoken and very knowledgeable. Over the course of our conversation we found many shared thoughts on supporting women. Her journey also intrigued me – moving from studying computer programming, to dancer performing internationally, to becoming one of the first sexy fitness instructors in Canada, to the business empire she now runs today.

In the end, I left that meeting impressed. This is one focused entrepreneur who clearly understands her business goals and how to achieve them. And the best part – these goals are intimately tied up with helping women achieve their desires and finding their power. She truly lives up to her branding – Laura Furtado: Fab Female Entrepreneurette Empowering Women.

8Q Spotlight Laura Furtado

What is your current career(s)?

I am the Founder/Owner of two women-based communities, based out of Toronto: DivaGirl and Sexy & Wealthy in Heels. DivaGirl is a lifestyle community that empowers women.  DivaGirl consists of six divisions (fitness, entertainment, beauty, entrepreneurship, nutrition and fashion) and has successfully built a membership, licensee and franchised business model- having over 125 DivaGirls and 7 franchised communities. Sexy & Wealthy in Heels’ is a community that educates, inspires and features female entrepreneurs who are smart, sexy and successful.  Its programming and events are hosted in over 18 Canadian and USA cities.

I am also an active mentor for female based small start-ups in Canada and working on my first non-profit volunteerism trip experience to empower women in Belize (this November), Divas Aboard.

Can you share an interesting thing (or two) about your journey to reach this moment?

Being an entrepreneur was and is no easy task.  There were many times in which I wanted to give up or change the direction of my career.  I remember that there were some situations that I wondered: why are you doing this?  Why take the risk when you could have a comfy, secure job?  But looking back, I realize that I was driven by people.  More specifically, the women who were part of my community, who shared positive feedback about the initiatives we were organizing and their excitement for us to offer more.  The “DivaGirls” have been my motivation since day 1- and still are today.

A second thing that motivates me to be an entrepreneur is the concept of “freedom.”  I have an idea of how I want to live the rest of my life, and it doesn’t consist of being a slave to work.  I have determined that I want to give back and help women as much as possible and I understand what I must accomplish from a financial perspective (i.e. creating streams of revenue and building wealth), to enable me to achieve this.  My hard work over the past 8 years, and continued drive over next few years, is a journey (and strategy!) that will enable me to achieve this.  The motivation of “freedom” of helping other women, without financial restraints, is a big motivation of mine.

What 3 things would you like people to know about you to give them a sense of who you really are?

Though I may seem very social and outgoing, I am actually a quiet individual.  I truly enjoy spending time by myself and working alone- a habit that I got used to early on in my entrepreneurial journey.

In addition, I am truly a geek for business knowledge.  I am always reading and listen to about 3 podcasts daily- a constant motivation.  I do believe that knowledge is power.

And lastly, I am terrible at sports.  Though I love fitness and the active lifestyle, I prefer solo exercises such as yoga, dance, spinning and running.  I am not a good “team sports” player- in fact, am super un- coordinated at it.

Highest moment so far?

Through my entrepreneurial journey, there are three things that come to mind that I am truly proud of:

·      Being named Canada’s Top Young Entrepreneur of 2010

·      Franchising my community, DivaGirl, in the 6th year of my entrepreneurial journey.

·      Creating and working on my volunteerism trip experience, Divas Abroad. This is my opportunity to “giveback” and empower women who are less fortunate, in a third-world country.

What are you working on right now? In the next 6 months?

My theme for 2015 is leadership.  My main goal is to share my knowledge of growing a female-based community with other passionate women and building other female leaders. I am focused on growing the number of DivaGirl Franchisees and City Leaders for Sexy & Wealthy in Heels.

In addition, I am working on our first volunteerism trip experience, Divas Aboard, in which 11 women from our communities will be heading to Belize this November to empower and educate women in need.  Finally, I am working 2 eBooks: #SuccessBABE 2 (150 tips for women entrepreneurs on becoming smart, sexy and successful, to be released November 2nd) and an interactive guide for success, targeted to women entrepreneurs.

Who and/or what inspires you?

The women in my community are who inspire me.  I am constantly in awe of the amazing initiatives that women are creating and what they can accomplish to help others.  Fostering a women’s platform of collaboration is what I am passionate about- and our members’ stories and continued support is what inspires me to do more.

How do you personally define success?

Success is being truly authentic and doing what you love, when you want, without financial restraints.  In order to truly become successful, you must first define what “success” means to you- as the definition varies among people.  But remember, without happiness, there is no success.

Favourite quote?

Confidence is the best accessory that a woman can wear.  It was a quote that inspired me to become an entrepreneur.  Today, this quote still inspires and drives my business growth.

I never wanted to have my own business, or in fact, a career in dance. I wanted to either be successful in computer science or a kick-ass business women who travelled the world. Though I was passionate about dance, I always was focused on school. I danced/performed all through my university career, “on the side,” because I loved it and thought it was fun. The concept of “DivaGirl” came at a time in which I was overworked with classes and workshops and wanted to find a more “efficient” and “fun” way to conduct business. I thought it would be great to create a community of instructors, in which by leveraging and helping each other, everyone would benefit. This was something that was missing in the dance industry and I wanted to be one of the first to market.

What’s the toughest thing you’ve been faced with thus far?
The most challenging part of running your own business is managing a personal life. Being a business owner requires a lot of work hours- meaning that you spend LOTS of time with your best friend- yourself. So lack of time and priorities is challenging in relationships. The key? Find someone who works as hard, is confident about themselves and supportive in your career.

What did your parents want you to be?
My parents have been and are supportive of everything that I do. My parents never wanted me to be something specific. They just wanted me to be successful and happy… and I think I have done that.

What’s the best piece of advice you were ever given?
A big key to business success is finding a “system” that works for you and that you can effectively create revenue. Building wealth is truly a combination of two things: (1) creating various streams of revenue and (2) having others feel “invested” so they are motivated to promote your brand. Once I learnt this, everything became “easier.”

What advice do you have for women who want to follow in your footsteps?
The most important thing is finding out what you are passionate about- do what you love. Because if you are going to work hard and make it part of your life, you must enjoy it! In addition, do things right. Treat people with respect and follow up on your word. At the end of the day, it’s not about wealth or power, it’s about living a happy, productive and meaningful life. In addition, women need to learn how to be independent and grow their own success. You should NEVER rely on someone else to create your life and its rewards- you need to contribute. Finally, be prepared for the hard work. You don’t get to success by taking the easy route; and if you did, it wouldn’t be special once you got there.

Is it possible for a woman to successfully balance both love and career? Why or why not?
100%. Love and career should complement each other- not override each other. A successful, loving relationship will be one in which the each party respects and supports each other’s career and work life. And if one can’t accept your career and what you do, then they are not the right person for you. End of story.

What’s next for you?
My main focus right now is building my licensee program and finding the right women to be leaders in the various DivaGirl divisions. In addition, I am focused on building exposure for DivaGirl Entertainment and bringing in more dance entertainment contracts to the DivaGirls. We have experienced great momentum over the past 6 months- I am just trying to maintain it.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years… 10 years?
In the next 5 years, I plan to work hard to continuously grow the DivaGirl brand and its current divisions. I plan on creating a stronger presence in various cities, such as Calgary and Vancouver. I also plan on executing DivaGirl Conferences throughout other major cities. In the next 10 years, I see my career changing focus, with having a family- then, I hope to focus more on mentoring, speaking and empowering women through education and events.

And last but not least, where can readers find you? Facebook, Twitter, Website, etc.

Building Leaders: What Others Are Saying About Our Leadership Program

For 2015, I set my theme for the year to be LEADERSHIP.  And that is what I focused on.  With my 2nd business, Sexy & Wealthy in Heels, we have built to date 17 Canadian/USA leaders- and are on our way to do more.  Here is what our City Leaders are saying about the entrepreneurette program.

Sexy-Wealthy-in-Heels-(1)

Sexy & Wealthy in Heels is truly a life changing opportunity. I have learned so much in the time I have spent with Laura. I really feel equipped to go out and conquer the world! This experience so far has been phenomenal! I am looking forward to changing lives and inspiring other women to their greatness.” Alicia Knox, City Leader Philadelphia, PA

“After attending my first Sexy & Wealthy in Heels event I was so impressed that I immediately signed up to be a member and less than a year later, I’m so excited to come on board as a City Leader Entrepreneurette! Laura Furtado has built an amazing community of inspirational women that I am constantly inspired by. Sexy & Wealthy in Heels is fantastic for any woman who is driven toward success but wants to have fun along the way. For me personally, it’s the perfect way to build my own platform as an entrepreneur and attract clients for my business, but more importantly, it’s an opportunity to collaborate with like-minded women who want to achieve great things.” Lisa Richards, City Leader, Toronto, ON

“Embarking on my entrepreneurial journey was a pretty daunting experience. As my idea shifted into being a real business, I found that I needed to add some more people to my circle to help me navigate this transition. Having a group of professional mentors and supporters has been the key to my success. I joined Sexy & Wealthy in Heels as a way to not only grow my own support system, but to extend all of the knowledge and experience I’ve incurred as a young, female entrepreneur. Working with Laura has been a lovely experience. She is very inspiring and I feel confident that my training as an Sexy & Wealthy in Heels City Leader will not only make me a better mentor for the women in my community, but help me to refine my own business skills.” Zoey (Dash) McKenzie, City Leader, Toronto Beaches, ON

“I was honored to be presented with the opportunity to represent Sexy & Wealthy in Heels in my city of Calgary! The training was simple, everything I need is provided for me, Laura is AWESOME at responding to every question I have promptly and explaining in detail all I need to know. She truly cares about the success of the girls she is working with! Not only do I get to share my story and inspire other women to reach their goals…but I have the opportunity to grow my OWN success story! Thank you Laura!!!!” Vanessa former City Leader, Calgary, AB

“I’ve been seeking a more leveraged way to network and gain visibility in my business community to grow my clientele and the Sexy & Wealthy in Heels City Leader Entrepreneurette program has offered me the perfect vehicle to do so. I now have access to solid systems, training and support but most importantly, an already established, like-minded community and instant credibility through the Sexy & Wealthy in Heels brand. It feels awesome and really effortless to deliver the done-for-you, content rich seminars that take the guess work out of hosting a stellar event but what I love most is that I’m making a difference to other business owners while having a fabulous time along the way.” Tamika Auwai, City Leader, Mississauga, ON

“Working as a City Leader with Sexy & Wealthy in Heels, has been an amazing journey thus far. I can’ t wait to bring to the community the Fabulous Seminars and Events going into 2015..  Laura Furtado is a great mentor and very supportive.” Melanie Fry, City Leader, Oshawa, ON

“Since joining Sexy & Wealthy in Heels as a City Leader, I feel a lot more confident as an entrepreneur and as a leader. The monthly status calls are my favourite part. These monthly check-ins help me stay on my game and keep track of my monthly, seasonal, and annual goals. Additionally, they are also tailored to my specific needs and requirements which has resulted in a lot of personal growth in a short amount of time. This has been a great experience fine-tuning my business skills.” Sarah Weinrauch, City Leader, Scarborough, ON

“My experience as a City Leader with Sexy & Wealthy in Heels has been incredible. It has allowed me to connect with so many amazing and like-minded women. I love the energy that is shared at our events! I truly believe what we do is bringing women together to collaborate and create sustainable businesses. I look forward to building a strong Sexy & Wealthy in Heels community in Chicago and beyond!” Olivia Pelaez, City Leader, Chicago, IL

Grow Money- Fast!

Strategies to Build Revenue in Start-Up Businesses
Written by Laura Furtado

April 10, 2013.

On April 15th, I had to pleasure to chat at the Women in Business conference at the Hyatt in Toronto.  I sat on the panel that discussed ways on how an entrepreneur can make money- and fast!

Starting up a business is no easy task.  It requires determination, hard work, consistency and a creative mind to determine how your business will grow.  Though stressful and a bit overwhelming, the start-up phase is exciting because you start to fulfill your dream in having a career you truly desire.  Time freedom, doing what you love and the potential to earn a higher income (vs. being employed) are some of the main reasons why women start the path of entrepreneurship.

However, the true challenge lies in setting up a business that makes money; more specifically, sustainable revenue.   If your business, which is tied to your “passion,” doesn’t generate revenue, it solely becomes a “hobby.”  In order to convert your passion into a true “business,” you must establish a revenue-generating model and determine HOW your company and brand will generate the green.  Most start-ups fail within the first three years of establishment, based on this fact alone.  However, there are strategies that you should consider, to help you generate money in the early years of start-up.

Here are five concepts that I implemented in my business:

1. Create passive income: 90% of employees earn “linear” income.  Meaning, your time, expertise and efforts are directly tied to your revenue.  If you want to make more money, you need to work more hours.  The challenge with start-ups is because you are strapped for cash, you try to work harder which can eventually lead to fatigue.  You cannot build a business under these conditions.

Finding a strategic way to build passive income in your business is key.  Passion income is an income received on a regular basis, with little effort required to maintain it.  When your business is making residuals, you have more time to focus on “building” your business further.  Some examples of passive income include licensee fees, membership fees, royalties or commissions

2. Leverage: is utilizing resources to increase a potential return.  In a start-up, you can “leverage” other categories other than money, such as expertise, marketing reach, distribution, etc.  In this situation, an entrepreneur has the ability to work with other people or companies, that have resources that you need, and vice versa.  The important thing to realize with leverage is to determine what you need help with and what “value” you will provide others.  Leverage works when a “win-win” relationship is created, so be very clear of your value proposition before approaching others with an opportunity.

3. Go Digital: with our digital age, it is extremely easy for a local business to go global, by going digital with their product offerings.  Creating digital products and “packaging” your expertise, is a quick and easy way you can earn money from work and time generated only once.  Many companies are able to conduct business entirely online, which can be desirable as it eliminates high over-head costs.  Some examples of digital products include video tutorials, presentation downloads, online courses, e-Books and video seminars.

4. Partner with Success: Creating strategic partnership with successful individuals or brands, especially in the beginning, is an excellent way to get ahead in the game.  By creating effective alliances with other like-minded companies, you have the opportunity to learn from success, generate knowledge and start build goodwill.  However, challenges may arise if there are unclear roles and responsibilities among parties, so ensure that you outline job descriptions and the intent, right in the beginning.

5. Build on Purpose: I truly believe that you get back what you put out in the world.  Building a business that serves a “purpose” in society and helps foster a community, are those that have longevity.  By incorporating gratitude and contribution in your business model, you help ensure that your efforts go un-noticed.  Working with outside organizations and sharing your passion with those less fortunate is crucial at making a mark in your industry.

Overall, if you are able to understand and apply the concepts of leverage, duplication and contribution, you are on your way to financial success.

She’s travelled all over the world, smiling and dancing the entire way. Laura Furtado, named one of last year’s Top Five Young Entrepreneurs in Canada, continues to help women stay motivated, positive and achieve their ultimate fitness goals through her online company DivaGirl. Offering services from seminars to classes and professional dance groups, her company continues to grow and help women all over in this YEDaily…

Elevator Pitch: Describe your job in a nutshell.
I’m an international Dancer, Instructor, Choreographer and Presenter. I am the Owner of DivaGirl, which is an online community that encourages women to get fit, have fun and feel sexy. DivaGirl consists of 4 divisions: DivaGirl Fitness, DivaGirl Entertainment, DivaGirl Beauty and DivaGirl-Preneur. I work on creating dance/fitness programs, events and services for females, alongside my DivaGirl Licensees, to encourage women to unleash their sexy within. I hang out with lots of women, dance, joke around and create… I have a tough job.

Why did you start your company? What was the inspiration for this route?
The concept of “DivaGirl” came at a time in which I was overworked with classes and workshops and wanted to find a more “efficient” and “fun” way to conduct business. I thought it would be great to create a community of instructors, in which by leveraging and helping each other, everyone would benefit. This was something that was missing in the dance industry and I wanted to be one of the first to market.
The name “DivaGirl” was inspired from a good friend and amazing Dancer, Krystal Garib. She constantly called me a “Diva” because of my personality, and the name really caught my attention. “Diva” represents the independence and strong-will of a woman, and “Girl” represents the flirty, fun side of females; characteristics that represents the brand. In addition, it was an ex-boyfriend who had motivated me to execute the concept and actually build the business model. I thank both of them for helping me where I am today.

What is the best part of what you do on a day-to-day basis?
The best part of my day is the fact that every day is a new adventure! Though my days are very long, usually starting off at 6am and ending past midnight, there is never a dull moment. I am given the opportunity to help and inspire women daily, which I love to do, hence why I live a very happy life.

The most challenging part?

I actually enjoy the entrepreneurial lifestyle… even the accounting! However, on the downside, it is challenging to manage a personal life. Running your own business requires a lot of work hours- meaning that you spend LOTS of time with your best friend- yourself. Entrepreneurs are “loners” by nature and though I love spending time by myself, I would like to have more time for my friends and family.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In the next 5 years, I plan to continue to grow the DivaGirl brand and its current divisions. My personal goal is to reach 50 DivaGirl Licensees over the next two years and have a presence in new cities, including Europe. Over the next year, I am launching our active wear clothing collection, our online DivaGirl shop, instructional DVD and online certification courses which I plan on building over the next 5 years. I also plan on executing DivaGirl Conferences throughout various major cities. Finally, I am working on a TV proposal in hopes to create a DivaGirl show. Regardless, I will still be dancing, having fun and encouraging women to be fabulous!

What does success look like to you?
Success is simple. It means living a happy, productive and meaningful life. If you have all three characteristics, you are a rock star!

What is the most memorable milestone in your career?
The most memorable milestone for me was being titled one of the five Top Young Entrepreneurs in Canada in 2010.

Do you have any advice for other young professionals?
–        Leverage others specialities and partner with other brand/individuals.
–        Always network with other amazing, passionate people, as they will help your business grow.
–        Treat everyone with respect and always keep the meaning of “karma” in mind.
–        Be yourself and follow your heart… as no one else will be better at being you than yourself.

Do you support any charities? If so, which one(s) and why is that important to you?
I am on the Board of Directors for the Dance for Life Foundation, a non-profit organization that believes the passion for dance can be used as a medium to bring together communities of people globally. We support and assist charities and individuals in need and all of our profits from our initiatives go to charity. In addition, I sit on the Turnout group at the National Ballet of Canada, who foster the future of dance by supporting the prestigious Apprentice program. I’m also an active mentor for thriving female entrepreneurs in Toronto. Throughout the year, DivaGirl also supports various local, women organizations, which serve various goals, yet all focus on making women lives’ better.

What to you is notable?
Being notable is working hard, treating other with respect and always having a good heart. At the end of day, there should be no regrets.

Blackberry, iPhone, Android, or Other?
I live by my iPhone!

Why Ladies Heart DivaGirl!

I love working with women… especially when I have the opportunity to inspire, educate and help make them fabulous on the inside and out.  I fell in love with a letter than our formal Social Media Co-ordinator, Julia Gallo, wrote for us; why ladies love working with the DivaGirl community!  Thank you Julia- I appreciate your kind words! xx

“I came to DivaGirl as a young twenty-four year old girl in the midst of a life transition. Like most young people fresh out of college I was tired of my major and what being in it’s field contained. I decided to throw it all out the window and rather start working for a company I believed in, that I felt I could learn and grow further from instead of being tied to the obsession of having a business title.

I learned of DivaGirl from attending a Chic-A-Boom Room show which was an amazing introduction to tasteful burlesque, and a small portion of all it is Laura does with DivaGirl to unleash a women’s sexy within. I was attracted to the confidence in embracing sexuality the dancers contained yet still seeming so tasteful and womanly and Laura as a friendly, enthusiastic, professional woman who seems to have it all figured out. I later starting interning with an affiliate brand as part of the marketing team then was almost immediately transferred to DivaGirl Inc. as a Social Media Marketing/ Member Intern then Social Media Coordinator. I learned much about the art of advertising online, selling strategies and techniques and the beauty of being an entrepreneur. I was also able to let out my creativity and love for writing something that had been numbed by limiting positions in the past. Laura as a boss was the best you could ever ask for. She allows you to work freely in the comfort of your own space, is honest and open to ideas you bring to the table allowing you to shine in a trusting fashion, and continuously provides further opportunities within her business for you to learn, grow and develop your skills. She pays much attention to who is a fit for her brand specifically and trains fit individuals accordingly so as a DivaGirl you’re always learning something new, an amazing experience for me. Above being given countless opportunities within DivaGirl I was able to meet women with interesting businesses I would have never known about simply due to being a part of the community. Of these women I’ve also been given job opportunities with one specifically being with a Television Channel simply through networking with DivaGirl. The opportunities within the community are endless.

Last, and most importantly DivaGirl has taught me how to embrace myself as a woman, be proud of who I am, my talents, abilities, and basically everything that makes me, me! Anything I have ever been afraid to unleash within myself in fear I may look too different has disappeared and I can truthfully say I have come out as a better, stronger, more self assured woman from being a part of DivaGirl thus far. It’s close to impossible to not become a more confident women with DivaGirl, whether it be working with the brand, attending an event, show, or workshop it’s almost like female empowerment is in the air and infectious in the best way possible.

I would recommend anything DivaGirl touches to every women of all walks of life and age brackets who want to live happy being free to be the woman that they are and come away with a little more shine in their step. I would also recommend working with DivaGirl to any woman who wants to work in a positive, engaging, uplifting environment adding new and different experiences to their resume. You’ll also learn the trials and tribulations of being an entrepreneur and  the tools needed to be your very own boss one day too! Much love to Laura and DivaGirl with everything and anything she dreams up!”
